How to interpret the result
Use revenue on the same accounting basis and period. Pair the share with absolute revenue so a declining total does not look like growth.
Publisher example
Subscriptions bring $35,000 of $70,000, or half. If total revenue drops to $60,000 while subscriptions stay flat, their share rises to 58.3% without any subscription growth.
